As a “Premium Subscriber,” what will I get?

A “Premium Subscriber” membership allows you unlimited access to all content on the website, www.TheFresnoTimes.com, including local news and information and premium content developed just for the Web. This can be accessed via computer, tablet or mobile phone. It also includes access to the e-edition, an online replica of the newspaper.

In addition, premium subscribers receive a valuable financial membership package that includes: local business discounts on products and services, and special buyer’s group access to theaters, movies, sports events, concerts and more. What is premium content? How does it work?

Some content on the site is free. Some content is “Premium Content” which has been posted for subscribers only. Visitors may view the free pages but then they will be asked to purchase a subscription.

What content is free and what is subscription only?

Our home page, quick reads, obituaries, law enforcement, connections, Associated Press stories, opinion polls and classified ads are free to view.

Content that is “Premium Content” for subscribers includes local news, local top stories, local sports, letters to the editor, columns, editorials, special reports, bonus content and comics.

Member-only content will include interactive, special reports and more.

The Fresno Times, like many other news organizations, charges for digital access so we may continue to invest in the quality of the paper, making it the best “Local Newspaper” possible.

Is the e-edition different than The Fresno Times website?

Yes, the e-edition is an online replica of the printed newspaper in PDF format. E-edition software allows users to view the newspaper as it was presented in print, turn the page, zoom in on text, search for stories and back issues and a variety of other functions. E-edition access is included with a print or digital subscription.

Can I access my digital subscription on more than one computer, smartphone or tablet?

Yes, you can use your username and password to access www.TheFresnoTimes.com at your home, at work, on the go, wherever. You can access our site on any web browser or mobile device. You can only be logged in to the site from one device at a time.

How much does it cost for a digital-only subscription?

Our subscriptions are only $12.95 per month or $99.95 per year.

How are digital subscriptions billed?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit cards and bank drafts. Subscriptions are billed each month or once a year for the annual subscription.  Your subscription will be renewed automatically, and you will be charged in advance of each billing cycle unless you cancel.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

You may cancel your subscription at any time, but there is no refund or proration, so you will remain a premium subscriber until your current period ends, and you will not be billed for the following billing cycle.

After your cancellation, you will be able to view non-subscription content at no charge, like any other visitor.

Can I still comment on stories without buying a subscription?

Yes, but you will be limited to non-subscription pages.

I don’t want to pay for news online; it should be free. Why don’t I just go elsewhere?

There is no better source for in-depth, accurate and timely local news, information and analysis. The Fresno Times is fiercely local and offers more local news and information about Fresno and the surrounding area than any other outlet. Our media organization consists of local people who live and do business in this area. That has value.

I am an advertiser on The Fresno Times website. How will this affect my ads?

Display advertising will still run on all pages throughout the site. So, this change to the website will not impact the effectiveness of your advertising. In fact, you may benefit by having a more engaged readership view your ads.

How will this affect my classified ad?

All classified ads will still have unlimited free access by visitors to our site. This change to the website will not impact the effectiveness of your ad.
